Kenya: Primary Schools
- Primary School in Kenya is from class 1 to 8. All children have to go to Primary School.
- In the Constitution, English and Kisuaheli are provided as the two official languages of the country. But there are other languages out of 42 ethnic groups who barely understand each other.
- In school, children are taught until the age of about 8 years (class 1 to 3) in their native language. These are the languages of the 42 tribes of the country. Then the classes will be held in English. As a unitary "East African" unity language Kiswahili is taught as a foreign language.
