First impressions from the MTTC
Classes with up to 80 students | is studied from 8am to 10pm | school furniture as with us 40 years ago | the board is a black-painted wooden wall = "Blackboard" | the auditorium is also canteen | the students live here two years in a confined space | at 10.30pm students went to separate houses for men and women at the "Airport" | narrow rooms for lecturers.
Our plan for the two weeks
Daily sports program
Students have to make sport between 4 to 6pm. In lessons they learn lot of theorie, than they make practice/training.
Many sports are typically British: Cricket, Rugby, Soccer, but also Basketball, Volleyball, Badmington, Teakwondo ... and Netball (we do not know). After sports they pray.

Lesson development for teachers practice (TP)
Students are preparing for the teachers practice (TP). They draw, paint and write on posters. Exactly as prescribed. The title must be written in capital letters, ... the table here and there clean side by side with each other, tighten lines, ... Posters are only allowed to use in classrooms with approval and stamps from the lectures of the College.
Sunday - free day for all
Sunday is washing day for most of the students. They wash their clothes themselves and with hands (picture below), also the male students. In the whole area clothes hanging around to dry. At weekend they are allowed to go out for walks, buying needed things in the town, ...
Sunday is also the day going to church and visit a fair. They are offered in different languages: Kiswaheli, Luo, ... and English in the Hall for most students. They celebrate in the church, praying and singing very load. The Bishopp invites us as guests from "Australia" to come up to the stage and introduce ourselves (again), students know meanwhile that we come from Austria.

Parades, meetings, ... at MTTC
Every Monday and Friday at 7am they come together for a great parade. They hoist the flag of Kenia and sing the national anthem. They pray together. There will be also announcements, news, prais, ... Big meetings are also normal (for example after 1 week TP = teachers practice) to point out all important things from every subject students has to pay attention.

I had never so much handshakes in so short time. Thanks a lot for your special greetings.
At teatime white bread is served. Plates and cups just stay lying. TV runs all day and night to about 22 clock

First we have to wait for power which is gone off - happens several times a day. And students came at "Kenyan time".

Accomodation and official hospitalities
Visitors at MTTC can stay in the guesthouse nearby Principals house. They get their meals in Principals house.
We were also invited to Chairmans house, to the house of Irene Nimbaye (Int. Off.) and to the houses of collegues Omondi and Kennedy. Thanks a lot for your special service.
